JOAN KURT BRADFORD'S RESEARCH ON THE KURT FAMILY HISTORY
As you know, Joan Kurt Bradford has been doing tremendous work in compiling information about our Kurt Family History. This is by far the most comprehensive work on the Kurt Family that anyone has ever attempted. In a recent email to all family members, she provided information her on her progress, latest findings and projected completion date. The work is now titled: LUXEMBOURG TO IOWA AND BEYOND - A History of the Kurt Family, 1674-2003. It includes: - A narrative text of our family history, beginning in 1674 and covering our ancestors' lives in Luxembourg, in pioneer Iowa and beyond. - Family charts, which show relationships between the different parts of the family. - Copies of old family documents from Luxembourg and Iowa. - Family photos including pioneer family members.
In preparing the family history, her goal has been to capture a picture of our ancestors' lives through the generation. Because of the many old documents and photos, her plan is to reproduce it on CD to make it more affordable.
Regarding when it will be ready, she said she just can't give a definite date yet. The amount of material is far more than anticipated and with recent discoveries from previously unknown sources, it will take time to compile and add to revisions. She asked that we be patient a little longer. She specifically welcomes comments and would like permission to include some of them in the epilogue. Specifically:
* Something about your interest in the family history, or * Your recollection of an older relative or place or event, or * Anything else that you want to write about the family. (It does not need to be deep or profound.)
She welcomes other comments and suggestions too, and an indication of how many people will want copies of the family history - assuming reproduction will be done economically. Also, don't forget to send her outstanding family information and photos.
Her address is: Joan Kurt Bradford 674 Woodchuck Place Hayward, CA 94544 E-mail arress is: bradjoan@attbi.com NOTE ; The "new'' email address provided in her email note is incorrect. Please use the above for the time being.
